Odis Hiteman Arp, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, at the age of 70.

Born on February 7, 1956, Odis was the son of the late Robert Ray Arp and Elizabeth Moore Arp of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. 

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Odis is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Arp. He was a proud father to his sons, Johnathan Arp (Lauren) and Bryan Arp (Paige). Grandfather to Haley, Hunter, Tucker, Bryce, and Braye.

He is also survived by his stepchildren, Shane Hicks (Heather) and Gara Stanley (Shane), along with his step-grandchildren, Cloie (Thomas), Alex (CarrLee), Elizabeth, Lara, Cora, and LakeLynn; and his great step-grandson, Mason.

Odis had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. He especially enjoyed fishing and had a passion for history, often sharing stories and knowledge with those around him.

Above all, Odis will be remembered for his love of being outdoors and memories he created with those closest to him.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 16, at Cedarwood Cemetery with Dennis Creech officiating.
