Deborah retired in November 2023 from West Rock Trailer Yard where she made significant contributions as a coordinator.

Her career was marked by the same dedication and passion she brought to all aspects of her life.

As a former military spouse, Deborah cherished the opportunity to explore new places and cultures.

Her journeys took her across the globe, enriching her life with experiences and friendships. Closer to home she frequently visited the beach with her mother and enjoyed spending time with her daughters and their families, including cherished fur babies Diesel, Delta Ann, Pluto, Nibbler, and Daisy Mae.

Deborah is survived by a loving family, including her mother, Carolyn Lucas; brothers Gwynn Lucas (Cheryl), Michael Simmons (Joyce), and Daryl Lucas (Sarah); daughters Jessica Bain (Billy), Elizabeth Weeks (Travis), best friend 'sis' Phyllis Moody, and bonus daughter Laura Harris. She also leaves behind her grandchildren William Edwin Bain Ill, bonus grandsons Jonathan Barrett, and Luchian Harris, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the staff at ECU Cancer Center and the ECU Hospice House in Greenville, NC. for taking care of Deborah and making sure she was comfortable in her last days.

A private celebration of Deborah's life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Association in memory of Debroah Simmons Carwile, reflecting her compassionate spirit and desire to aid others in their battles against the disease.
