Kyle Douglas “Boo” Watts, Jr., 61, of Roanoke Rapids, died Sunday, January 20, 2019 at his residence following a prolonged illness.

A native of Lexington, VA, Kyle was born August 2, 1957 to Kyle D. (Sr) and Ethel Tomlin Watts.  

Kyle and his family moved into the area in 1997.  

He was a Roadmaster for CSX Railway, a job he was committed to until his health related retirement in 2008.   

Kyle loved music, and played in several bands including the Ffun Band.

He was a member of Lake Gaston Golf Club; he also enjoyed boating and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Simpson Watts; sons, Andy Watts, Christopher Watts and wife, Jessica; grandson, Nathan Watts; his mother, Ethel Watts Garren; brother, Dorman Watts and wife Susan; sister, Linda Marquez and husband Vic; nieces and nephews; and cat, Lucy.  Kyle was preceded in death by his father; sister, Brenda.

The service to celebrate Kyle’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.  Friends may visit with the family from 12 noon until 1:30 pm, prior to the service.
