Clayton Eugene Trothen, 95 passed away Monday, December 19, 2022, at Liberty Commons.
Clayton was born August 6, 1927, in Jackson, Michigan to the late William Trothen and Hazel French Trothen. He was also preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Hazel Hamill Trothen; his daughter, Carolyn Little; two grandchildren, Brandi Ogburn and Robbie Maupin.
Clayton served his country in the U.S. Army and retired after thirty-one years from Murry’s Steaks as a Printing Press Operator.

Clayton is survived by his children, Connie Ogburn and her husband Keith of Darlington, Steven V. Trothen and his wife Yvonne of Newport News, VA and Valerie Maupin and her husband Bo of Windsor, VA; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; his two sisters, Margot Von Forell and Ruth Johannides and her husband David.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 22, 2022, in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Daniel West, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
