Janice Collins Gibson, 75, of Roanoke Rapids died November 15, 2022 at ECU North Hospital.

Janice was born in Halifax County on November 30, 1946, the daughter of John P. and Odell Allen Collins.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Melton Gibson, who died January 31, 2019.

She retired from Patch Rubber Company.  

Janice liked to work in her yard, enjoying her flowers and her garden.  She collected statues and angels.  Most of all, she loved her family.  Janice attended Open Door Fellowship Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Brian and Kim Wallace; special granddaughter, Kristina Wallace, grandchildren, Amy Williams (Jeff) and Bryant Green (Leanne); great-grandchildren, Zoey, Ivan, Natalie, Chase, Emily, Jaxson, Brody, Mason, Avary and Kennedy.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.

The funeral service for Mrs. Gibson will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, with interment to follow in Love – Allen Cemetery.  Pastor James Rawls will preside.

Memorials may be given to Open Door Fellowship Church.
