Joseph Alan Harvey, 55, formerly of Emporia, Virginia, died on August 7, 2022, at his home in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.
Although a man of few words, Alan demonstrated his love for family and friends daily in his actions.
Alan was predeceased by his father, James Clifton Harvey.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly Harvey, daughter Jordan Warren, son-in-law Blake Warren, and son Evan Harvey, of Roanoke Rapids; daughter Jillian Harvey and partner, Dre Whitted, of Durham; mother Barbara Jean Harvey of Jarratt, Virginia; brother Cliff Harvey, sister-in-law Dale Harvey, and nephew Tristin Harvey, of Richmond, Virginia; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He also leaves behind cherished friends David and Randall Martin-Franks, David Velvin, Clifton Bailey, and Eddie Woodruff.

Family and friends are invited to meet at 5895 Otterdam Road, Jarratt, Virginia on August 13, 2022, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM to celebrate his life. No formal funeral services are planned.
The family suggests contributions to Community Home Care and Hospice at 52 Anna Louise Lane, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870 for those wishing to give in Alan’s memory.
