Patsy Ennis Menter Lynch, 83, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Grandview Height Nursing Home in Marshalltown.

Patsy was born January 1, 1939, to Cleve and Selma (Martin) Ennis in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

She attended Roanoke Rapids High School, graduating in 1957.

Patsy loved getting together with her classmates and going to class reunions.

Following graduation, she met and married Lawrence Menter who was stationed at the Air Force Base in North Carolina.

They moved to Iowa and started a family. From that marriage four children were born: Lisa, Troy, Errin and Ashley.

After divorcing, Patsy moved back to Roanoke Rapids to be closer to her mother, sisters, and favorite brother-in-law. Patsy worked various jobs at Becker Village Mall and Halifax Regional Medical Center. Years later, she retired from Halifax County Dept. of Social Services.

Patsy spent much of her time helping her mother and spending time with her two sisters, Billie King and Betty Carroll while continuing to raise her youngest daughter, Ashley.

She loved getting together with all her old friends while making new ones. Patsy loved her home in Roanoke Rapids. She enjoyed planting flowers, decorating her home, meeting friends at 2nd Street Lunch, knitting with the ladies at church, trips to Goodwill and various junk stores, listening to Neil Diamond and she always enjoyed a good cup of coffee.

In 2004, she married Richmond Lynch. They enjoyed traveling, boating, and entertaining friends.

Richmond passed away in March of 2009.

In the last phase of her life, she continued working on her home. There was always something she had her eye on. She could turn the ugliest piece of furniture into something beautiful. Her favorite thing she enjoyed most was cooking for and spending time with her brother, Dicey King. He was an angel sent to watch over her. Lastly, her love for dogs was like no other! Starting with Sam-dog ending with Bentley (too many to count in between).

Patsy was a believer in Heaven and that all dogs go to Heaven. In August of 2021, Patsy returned to Iowa to be closer to her family and life-long friend, Bonnie Gaskill as she needed more care due to declining health. She lived at Grandview Nursing Home where she continued to make friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Lisa Williams of Baxter, IA, Sanford Troy (Crystal) Menter of Waverly, IA, Errin (Daniel) Bohlke of Marshalltown and Ashley (Tom) Allen of Asheville, NC. She had five grandsons: Sean Williams, Derek and Grant Bohlke, Ryan Menter and Sam Allen. Patsy also had a very special niece, Brenda (John) O'malley of Indian Trail, NC.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Richmond Lynch, sisters, Billie King and Betty Carrol, son-in-law, Tim Williams and daughter-in-law, Joedy Menter.

The service for Mrs. Lynch will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 27, 2022 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Jason Yeatts presiding.

Interment will be done privately in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Rainbow Animal Rescue, PO Box 972, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870

Arrangements are under the care of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.
