Roger was employed for over 25 years with the Roanoke Valley Ice Company. He was a hard worker, but also a simple, unassuming man of faith. Whenever you saw him, he almost always wore a hat about “Jesus.” He loved the Lord, and loved to read his Bible daily. He was a faithful member of Bread of Life Worship Center as long as his health permitted. Roger was also a kind man that loved animals, especially his dog and cats.
He is survived by his close special friends, Chuck and Janet Overton, and the employees of the Roanoke Valley Ice Company. He is also survived by a sister, Mabel Boseman, of Roanoke Rapids; and by a brother and sister-in-law, William “Bud” and Pat Spence, of Lake City, FL.
Chuck and Janet would like to extend their warmest appreciation and thanks to Roger’s caregivers at Rose Vista, and also to his hospice nurse Yessie, for the kindness shown to Roger during this time.
