Mrs. Diana Lynn Clements King, (the Klampett), 70, died Thursday morning, February 10, 2022 in her Roanoke Rapids home.

Diana was born December 26, 1951 in Halifax County, the daughter of Richard W. and Margaret Tompkins Clements. Her parents, and her son-in-law, Jimmie Randall Berwick, preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ on Emry Street. Diana retired from Wendy’s following 19 years of service, then loved her “new job” taking care of her grandchildren.  

She dearly loved her family and loved everyone for who they were.  She was the trusted “keeper of all secrets.” As much as she loved her family, she also loved both Elvis and Dale Earnhardt, Sr.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmie Wayne King, Sr.; her son, Jimmie Wayne King, Jr. (Shannon) of Indian Land, SC; two daughters, Tammy Lassiter (Paul) of Lasker and April Berwick of Roanoke Rapids; six grandchildren, Blake Lassiter, Noah Lassiter, Kaylee Berwick, Blaire Berwick, Mae Jacklynn Berwick, and Kaci Carson; a brother, Ricky Clements; and four sisters, Linda Carter, Sandra Pittman, Janet Edwards and Carolyn Porch. 

Friends may visit with the family from 2 pm until 4 pm Sunday afternoon, February 13, 2022 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.

The funeral service for Mrs. King will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, February 14, 2022 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ricky Jordan presiding. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
