Madge Jean Wiley Jennings of Littleton, NC, died on August 5th at the age of 92, with family and friends at home.

She was born in Shelbiana, KY to Merida “Bud” and Carrie Stapleton Wiley. 

The Wiley family moved to Paintsville where Madge was schooled. As a direct descendant of Jenny Wiley, she founded the Jenny Wiley Association and also served as Worthy Matron for the Eastern Star of Louisa, Kentucky from 1984-85 and 1987-88 with her husband, Ray Jennings, as Patron.

Madge married Ray Jennings in 1945, traveling with the military and making many friends along the way. She loved to play cards and was known as the “general” among those that played with her. She also enjoyed crocheting items and giving them to family and friends.

She is survived by her sister Bess Adkins, two daughters, Patricia Howe and Sharon Murrell, a son, James Jennings, her four grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband SMSGT Arnold Ray Jennings, and 10 Brothers and sisters.

A private memorial service will be held in Henrico, NC. Interment will be in Buchanan Chapel, Zelda, KY.

In lieu of flowers or cards, please make a donation in her name to Fisher House or the Red Cross.
