Mark Allen Chappell, 38, of Whitakers died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 22, 2018.

Mark was born February 13, 1980 in Alamogordo, NM, the son of Willie Wade Chappell and Patricia Gail Rowell Chappell.   

He worked in the construction industry doing electrical work, and was about to begin a new job with Food Lion.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Margaret Rowell; and also by a brother, Grant Philip Chappell.

He is survived by his son, Markus Chappell; daughter, Lily Chappell; mother and step-father, Patricia and James John Kutulas; father, Willie Wade Chappell; brother, Jonathan Wade Chappell; sister, Kayla McClary (Rashod); grandparents, Wilber and Christine Chappell; nephews, Wesley and Wyatt McClary; aunt, Brenda Blanton; and fiancee’ Wanda Shearin.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 7430 Seven Bridges Road, in Whitakers.  Pastor Dennis Gregory, Jr. will preside.

The family will receive friends following the service.
