Stanley “Papa” Ellis Radford, 83, of Enfield, NC passed away peacefully on September 6, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Stanley was born March 30, 1937 in Halifax County to the late Joseph and Nellie Radford. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joe Radford.

Stanley proudly served in the US Army National Guard. 

Stanley worked for Pepsi for 11 years before becoming a long haul truck driver. There he was able to travel all over the United States, logging more than 5 million miles before his retirement.

Stanley is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Paula “Polly” Radford; his children, Ellis Radford, Teresa Richards (Theo), Lynn Gailor (Mike), Donna Crickmore (W.C.) who he loved as a daughter; his grandchildren, Thomas Moore (Jenny), Theo Richards, Jason Richards, Rose Gailor (Matt), Ashley Robinson (D.J.), Brad Bellamy (Ashley); his great-grandchildren, Taylor Moore, Tyler Jones, Jerzee Bellamy, Kenzleigh Robinson; his sister-in-laws, Anne Garner, Lamour Thompson (Terry); his brother-in-law, Paul Keeter (Lou) and a host of very special friends who have become like “family” throughout the years.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to John and Jennifer Bellamy for always lending a helping hand. Also a sincere Thank You to Halifax County EMS, home health workers, Rural Health Group of Enfield and HOSPICE for exceptional care.

A memorial service to celebrate Stanley’s life will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1742 Ringwood Road, Enfield, NC 27823. The family will receive friends following the service.
