Teresa Lynn Garner Brown Jones, 61, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center.

Teresa was born August 19. 1958 in Halifax County to the late Clifton E. Garner and Nettie Elizabeth Pate Garner.

Teresa loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter Reagan. Teresa was a teacher for about thirty-seven years. She was proud of her accomplishments as a teacher. She obtained her Masters Degree and Special Education Degree from East Carolina University and was working on her doctorate when she passed away.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Kenneth Jones of Roanoke Rapids; her daughter, Cathy Volz and her husband Nick of Virginia Beach, VA; her granddaughter, Reagan Volz; her step-sons, Grey Jones and Kalob Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 17, 2020 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Henry Stephens and Rev. Dennis Joyner officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 15, 2020 at the funeral home and other times at the home.
