Carrie Elizabeth “Bet” Garner Walston, 99, died Friday, May 31, 2019 at Carolina Rest Home.

Born April 15, 1920 in Halifax County, she was one of twelve children born to Charlie Ashley and Kate Lee Medlin Garner.  

Bet was the widow of the late Roland Earl Walston, and was also preceded in death by her parents and ten brothers and sisters.  

She was a member of Dawson Baptist Church in Enfield; and, was a homemaker.

Survivors include her sister, Edith Garner Gay of Roanoke Rapids; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:45 pm Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service, with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.  Pastor Ricky Sorie will preside.
