Annie Cox Smith, 72 of Roanoke Rapids, passed away to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 10, 2026.  

Mrs. Smith was born in Roanoke Rapids on September 7, 1953, the daughter of the late Joyce Gray Aycock and Joseph Thomas Cox. 

She is survived by her husband James Smith, her daughter Amy Latham, her son Christopher Latham, her sister Michelle Hargrave (Randy), her brother William Cox, her eight grandchildren:  Clara Joyner, Timothy Joyner, Desiree Gainey, Gina Gainey, James Latham, Amber Latham, Krystian Latham, and Brooke Latham, her nieces Ashley Hargrave and Kayla Hargrave, her nephew Damien Cox, and several great grandchildren.  She also leaves behind her lifelong friends Priscilla and Dennis Edwads and her beloved border collie Zak.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
