Claude Eston Meadows, Jr.,  84, of Roanoke Rapids, died September 26, 2018, at Signature HealthCare in Roanoke Rapids.

Claude was born in Buncombe Co., NC, on July 28, 1934, to Claude E. Meadows Sr. and Ella Irene Fisher Meadows.  

He worked as a shipping clerk, and retired from Champion after 43 years of service.

Claude was a member of Freedom Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sons, Claude Lee Meadows (Tina Wood Meadows) of Roanoke Rapids, Gary Hall Meadows of Richmond; daughters, Margaret M. Vaughn (Bernice) of Roanoke Rapids, Cindy M. Barrett (Billy) of Garysburg; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Meadows of Seaboard; sisters, Genevieve Pollard and Marie Lewis (Billy) of Roanoke Rapids, Jackie King and Eva Lewis of Newport News, Edith Evans of Winston-Salem.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; brothers, Doug and Ray; sisters, Charlotte, Blanche, Ruth, Evangeline and Mary.

The family will receive friends from 10 - 10:45 AM Saturday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.  

A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM at Cedarwood Cemetery, with Pastors Rex Evans and Danny Jones presiding.
