Reba Barnes Davis, 91, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 27, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Virginia Barnes, her infant son, Kelly Glen Davis, born October 1953 and her son-in-law, Jeff Taylor.
She is survived by her husband of almost 74 years, Kelly Mac Davis; her children, Mike and Donna Davis, Peggy D. Taylor, Dennis and Mary Davis; her grandchildren, Bruce and Susan Lynn Davis, Liza Davis and Joel Tyson, Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor, Michael and Ellen Davis, Samantha Taylor, Hillary and Tommy Crowder; her great-grandchildren, Kenleigh and Gavin Tyson, Will and Aiden Taylor, Julia Davis and Aubrey and Henry Crowder.
Reba was born in Virginia on September 29, 1932 and was raised and went to school in Roanoke Rapids. She graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School and met her husband while working at Peebles in Roanoke Rapids through Kelly’s sister, Myrtle Draper.
She married Kelly Mac Davis on October 6, 1950. She was an active and faithful member of Galatia Baptist Church for over 74 years. She faithfully served as the church librarian, WMU, Secretary of Bible School and organized and helped with the blood drives. She also helped with cooking for mission days. Reba was the secretary and treasurer of Kelly M. Davis Enterprise, Inc.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 6:30 until 8:00 PM at Askew Funeral Service- Jackson Chapel in Jackson, NC.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Rev. David Foster and Rev. Darrel Davis officiating at Galatia Baptist Church.
Interment will follow in Conway Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers that helped with Mama in the last few months, Wanda Davis, Taneka “Michelle” Moore, MoNasia “Mo” Moore and Bria Lashley.
