Phillip Wayne Outland, affectionately known as Donkey, 44, died Sunday, March 10, 2019, in Hertford County, NC.

Phillip was born in Northampton County, August 28, 1974, son of the late Gary Wayne Outland and Debra Lynn Martin Outland Jones.

In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Roger “Red” Outland; maternal grandparents, Claude and Josie Martin; aunt and uncle, Virginia Rose and Thomas Earl Martin, and uncle, William “Pipe Man” Outland.

Surviving are the love of his life, Nikki Chappell and children: Taylor, Bryce and Addison; brother, Jonathan Outland and wife “SIL”, Candace; nephews, Gary, Christian & Caleb Outland and Kaleb Hall; niece, Lila Outland; paternal grandmother, Janet Outland; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Also surviving are many, many friends, who he considered to be part of his family.  

The family will receive friends at Askew Funeral Service- Jackson Chapel in Jackson, NC, Sunday, March 17, 2019, from 5-7 pm. Rev. Ray Faircloth, Jr. will conduct a service to remember Phillip’s life Monday, March 18, 2019, at Higher Ground Church in Ahoskie at 11:00 am.
