Mrs. Janet Rhea Turner, 85 of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Edgecombe Health and Rehab.
She was born on December 1, 1938 in Halifax County to the late Mack and Hazel Brown Rhea and was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Alton Turner, her sister, Phyllis Hasty and her son-in-law, Andy Howard.
Janet was a lifetime member of Quankie Baptist Church and a graduate of William R. Davie High School. She retired from Branch Banking and Trust (BB&T), now Truist, after 25 years of service as a Bank Teller.
She is survived by her son, Steven “Steve” Rhea Medlin (Jenny) of Charlotte, North Carolina; her daughter, Lori Medlin Howard of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; and her son, Andrew “Andy” Alton Turner, Jr. (Debbie) of Goldsboro, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Ashlie Turner Smith (Dylan), Katlin “Katie” Elizabeth Howard, Matthew “Matt” Steven Medlin (Anna) and Brian Thomas Howard (Colleen); her great-grandsons, Reid Smith and Andrew Howard; and her brothers, Bobby Rhea and Ronnie Rhea; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Quankie Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Dr. Lavelle Waters officiating.
Interment will immediately follow in the church Cemetery.
