Elizabeth Stallings Clark, better known as Bettie, died Thursday August 4, 2022 at Pine Forest Rest Home in Potecasi, NC. She was 91.

Bettie was born in Franklin County NC, November 3, 1930 to William and Mary Stallings. Besides being preceded in death by her parents, she is now with her husband, George Clark who she loved and missed dearly. She is also now with her brother Bill Stallings, her sister Anne Stallings Popajohn, as well as her niece Phyllis Stallings McCool and her nephew John Stallings, and several other close family members and friends.

Bettie is survived by her daughter Carol Taylor and her husband Mitch; her son Robert Clark; her adored grandchildren Jessica Taylor-Johnson and her husband John Robert, James Taylor, Jeremy Clark, and Shane Clark. She also is survived by her two great-grandchildren Micaylah and Damon Johnson. She loved her family well, and was so proud of each one! She is also survived by her brother Gilbert Stallings; her niece Beth Popajohn Posta; and her nephews George Stallings, George Popajohn, Bill Stallings, and their children.

Bettie lived a life of service to others. She was a secretary at REA for many years. In later years, she enjoyed knitting and made many hats for the free hat program at Duke Cancer Center.

Bettie was a member of Conway United Methodist Church (Conway NC) and that is where her service will be held Tuesday August 9th at 3pm. Rev. Robert Hill will officiate. Interment will follow at the Conway Town Cemetery beside George.

Bettie was a very practical woman, so please, instead of flowers, please send donations to either Pine Forest Rest Home in Potecasi NC or the Methodist Home for Children in Raleigh NC.
