Betsy Holdford Hudgins, 74, of Halifax died Friday April 8, 2022 with her loving family by her side.

She was a native of Halifax County and was the daughter of the late Jesse Hyman and Helen Branham Holdford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Jefferson “Jeff” Hudgins and her brother, Donald Angus Holdford.

Betsy was a 1965 graduate of Weldon High School and was retired from the Halifax County Library. 

She is survived by her daughter, Christy Ivey Zornes and her husband, Lawrence of Gaston, her son, Brandon Hudgins and his wife, Sharon of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren, Nicole Zornes and her fiance’ Will, Crystal Leigh Zornes and her fiance’ Carlton Hamm, Kayla Hudgins and Mike; great grandchildren, Sasha Lynne Zornes, Anton Lawrence Midgett, Carley Leighann Ham and Caylee Isabel Ham; brothers, Judge Holdford and his wife, Linda of Halifax, Monte Holdford and his wife, Janet of Roanoke Rapids, three nieces and one nephew and her aunt Jean Branham of Halifax.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the Halifax United Methodist Church with Rev. Avery Lail officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service at the Church.
