Willie Alfred Ancarrow, Sr of Roanoke Rapids died Saturday October 2, 2021 at Vidant North Hospital.

He was the son of the late John Robert and Sadie Crowe Ancarrow. 

Willie loved his Country and served it proudly in the United States Army during WWII. He served as commander of VFW post 3702 in Roanoke Rapids and was retired as a foreman with Champion International Paper after 40 years of Service.

Surviving is his wife, Florence Ancarrow; his daughters, Linda Ancarrow Vaughan and her husband, James of Roanoke Rapids; Lisa Ancarrow Woodburn and her husband, Bert of Salem, Alabama; his son Willie Alfred Ancarrow, Jr of Roanoke Rapids; four grandchildren, Shannon Lee Marcom of Cary, Ashley Woodburn of Mobile, Alabama, Hope Shauntee Barkley and her husband, Steve of Roanoke Rapids and Willie Alfred Ancarow, III and his wife, Nicole of Raleigh and four great grandchildren.

A special thank you to Joe and Wes Robbins, Alycia and Jennifer Mayle for their loving contribution to Willie. The family also wants to say a grateful appreciation to the staff of Hampton Manor in Gaston.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday October 5, 2021 at 11 am in Cedarwood Cemetery officiated by Rev. Randy Martin.

The family will visit with friends after the service at the Cemetery.
