Peggy Hudson Rhome, age 78, of Tarpon Springs FL formerly of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away on July 11, 2020.

Peggy was born on January 27, 1942, in Halifax County NC to the late Elvin and Florence Hudson.

Peggy was a wonderful mama, and loved her family dearly.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years William “Butch” Rhome. She is also preceded in death by her parents Elvin and Florence Hudson and by her brothers Dickie Hudson and Donald “Bubba” Hudson. 

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Leigh Jones and her husband Jim of Raleigh, NC; her son, John Rhome and his wife Paulette of Tarpon Springs, FL; her sister Dorothy “Dot” Carroll, and her husband Hugh Carroll of Roanoke Rapids,  brother Chuck Hudson and his wife Ginger of Mechanicsville, VA, her brother Larry Hudson and his wife Barbara of  Appomattox, VA, and sister-in-law, Emma Lou Hudson of Roanoke Rapids, NC; her four grandchildren, Chip Rhome and his wife JoEllen, William Rhome, Jimmy Jones and his wife Shelly, and Jessi Jones; her four great-grandchildren, Noah, Luke, and Amos Jones, and Maverick Rhome. Also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 in the chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, NC at 11:00 am with son John Rhome and Pastor Jason Yeatts officiating.

Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 10:30 am until service time at the funeral home.
