Bessie Tompkins Bogue, a native of Wilmington, NC, was born March 17, 1936 to the late Marion Francis Tompkins. and Fannie Harrington Tompkins. She was a loving wife, mother and friend.

She died peacefully at her home March 3, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar H. Bogue and son, Steven D. Bogue , a brother, Arthur Tompkins, and sister, Margaret T. Clements.
She is survived by daughters, Susan Bogue Bullock and her husband, Ronald Jr. of Eden, NC; Sandra K. Bogue and her finance, Jim Goodyear of Durham, NC; Libby Bogue Dore and her husband, Mike of Asheville, NC; her Sister Dorothy Tompkins of Cedar Point NC; brothers, Webster Tompkins of Roanoke Rapids NC , and Marion Tompkins of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren, Oscar P. Bogue, Michael D. Roberts (Teresa), Tommy Davidson, Jr., Brett Swails, Jr., Stephanie Casper (Mike), Kyle Sledge, and Kristen Dore; ten great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 P.M. at the Roanoke Rapids Church of God with Rev. Jerry Waters officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

Friends and family will be received at Askew Funeral & Cremation services on Friday, March 4th from 7-8:30 pm.
