Dorothy Champion Mullis 91, of Roanoke Rapids, died Thursday November 24, 2011 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Mrs. Mullis was the daughter of the late Walter Edward and Nora Roberts Champion.

She was also preceded in death by her husband James William “Jimmy” Mullis.

She along with her husband was the owner operator of Chuck’s grocery and the Puppy Palace Restaurant in Roanoke Rapids for many years.

She was also preceded in death by her husband James William “Jimmy” Mullis.

She is survived by two sons, James William “Chuck” Mullis and his wife Dorothy E. of Roanoke Rapids and Steven Wayne “Steve” Mullis of Roanoke Rapids and Greenville, one grandson James Brian Mullis of Raleigh.

Funeral Services will be held Monday at 1 P.M. in the Chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Rick Gaskins officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood cemetery.

The Family will receive friends Sunday from 3-4:30 at the Funeral Home.
