The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to interim Chief Bobby Martin:
The Roanoke Rapids Police Department and North Carolina State Bureau of investigations executed two search warrants today in the Southgate area of Roanoke Rapids. The joint operation was successful in the seizure of fentanyl, heroin, marijuana, oxycodone pills, assault rifle, ammunition, and currency received from the distribution of illegal narcotics. One subject was arrested and charged with 10 felony charges, including trafficking, and 1 misdemeanor, with more charges to come.
This operation stems from the undercover operation that was conducted by the Roanoke Rapids Police Department and North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations. Through numerous hours of surveillance, community complaints, and confidential tips they were able to obtain a search warrant for the two residences.
To all those who assisted with this operation, including the citizens of the Roanoke Valley, we thank you very much for your help and your patience. To anyone else who has complaints regarding illegal activity please contact the Roanoke Rapids Police Department Narcotics Unit and be assured that we are working very hard to make our community a better place.
