A 21-year-old Conway area man died Sunday night after colliding with a bridge on Highway 35, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

First Sergeant M.D. Williams said, according to a preliminary investigation by Trooper D.J. Brake, Josiah Harris was traveling north on Highway 35 in the Conway area shortly before 10 p.m. when he traveled off the roadway to the right. 

The vehicle collided with the bridge and overturned. The vehicle landed on its roof in a ditch which contained water. Harris was pronounced deceased at the scene, Williams said, and contributing factors remain under investigation.
