A digital transformation professional will lead a free hour-long virtual presentation to share information about the role of integrating equity and community into successful business development.

The Center for Energy Education will host a webinar Monday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. featuring Bill Pugh who will discuss Connecting Communities & Equitable Engagement.

The discussion will explore the intersection of equity and community impact strategies and solutions for cities, utilities and other municipalities.

Pugh, co-founder of Smart Connections Consulting, has more than 20 years of industry experience and leverages his expertise in intelligent infrastructure and cloud strategy to drive social impact and innovation. He delivers thought-leading products, solutions and partnerships for a variety of technological and business objectives.

He advises businesses and municipalities on platform, solution and ethical data use requirements that result in equity and new revenue streams, notably on elements that impact digital transformation such as cybersecurity and connectivity technologies. He also provides strategic consulting on solution development and implementation, emerging technology evaluations and business model development.

An alumnus of the University of Phoenix and Stanford University, Pugh has authored publications and best practices as it relates to the Smart Grid, Smart City and cybersecurity/privacy. His strategic focus areas include wireless networking, WiFi, point-to-point and carrier technologies.
