The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office is highlighting several cold cases, according to Captain Patrick Jacobs.

Daniel McCoy Moses

Moses was last seen on June 16, 2011 at his residence off of WJ Duke Service Road in the Rich Square area.

The sheriff’s office later responded to this residence for a structure fire where the home was completely destroyed.

Over the course of what Jacobs described as an extensive investigation that included large grid area searches by foot, helicopter, dogs, and water, no evidence or leads have been developed. Moses is 6-3 and weighs between 200 to 220 pounds.

At the time of his disappearance Moses was 60 years old.

There is a $15,000 governor’s reward for anyone with information that leads to locating Moses or leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for his disappearance.

Harvey Davis

On December 24, 2015, the 85-year-old Davis was located inside his residence in Severn where he was found to be deceased from apparent wounds from a brutal assault.

It is believed the person or persons responsible for this assault and murder used some type of weapon.

“During the extensive homicide investigation, no evidence has been developed to bring the person or persons responsible for the death of Harvey Davis to justice.”

There is a $5,000 governor’s reward for anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this homicide case.

Kennel fire

On October 22 of last year at approximately 1:35 p.m., the sheriff’s office responded to a structure fire outside of Gaston off Highway 46.

Several dog kennels were burned that contained 13 beagles, which died.

“This was ruled as an arson investigation,” Jacobs said. “These animals died a senseless and cruel death as they had no way of escaping the harsh fire that consumed their kennels. During this arson investigation, no evidence has been developed to bring the person or persons responsible for the death of the 13 dogs to justice.”

Anyone with information on this case is encouraged to contact Detective W. Killian at 252-534-2611.
