Two men are wanted in a shooting death which occurred in the 900 block of Washington Avenue in Weldon on the evening of September 23, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
Major Anzell M. Harris said the men — Dashan Taylor, 29, and Tyquan Brown, 23 — are both from Weldon and tend to frequent that area.
The two are considered to be armed and dangerous and warrants have been filed for their arrests for first-degree murder in the shooting death of 48-year-old Lamar Lashley. They should not be approached by the public, Harris said.
The shooting occurred around 10:45 p.m. on September 23.
Halifax County Central Communications received a call regarding shots fired and patrol deputies and criminal investigators responded.
Central Communications received additional calls advising that a person later identified as Lashley was lying in the roadway next to a bicycle. Lashley had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Harris could not say what the motive in Lashley’s death was or how Taylor and Brown came to be identified as the alleged suspects.
