Roanoke Rapids police arrested two Virginia men — one on drug counts and one for resisting —following a larceny investigation Tuesday.
Gavin Michael Rice, 27, of Richmond and Jesse Brooks, 24, of Beaverdam were apprehended after being identified as suspects in a theft at a local business at Premier Boulevard, Chief Shane Guyant said.

During the investigation, officers discovered a significant quantity of narcotics in Rice's possession.
The seized contraband included 63 grams of ketamine, ecstasy pills, oxycodone pills, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Ketamine is a hallucinogen that is associated with anesthesia,the chief said.
Rice was charged with two counts of felony possession of a schedule I narcotic, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule I narcotic, misdemeanor possession of a schedule II narcotic, felony maintaining a vehicle, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony trafficking.
Brooks was charged with misdemeanor resisting a public officer and received a $500 bond. Rice received a $15,000 bond.
Both individuals are scheduled to appear in district court on Friday.
