A Gaston man is wanted for a stabbing which occurred Friday night at Carriage House Apartments on Henry Street.

Kenneth Antwan Powell, 30, faces a charge of first-degree murder, according to Roanoke Rapids police Chief Shane Guyant.

Around 9 p.m. Officer J. Conrad spoke to a 28-year-old victim who had been taken to ECU North.

Conrad discovered a stab wound to the right side of the victim’s neck.

Officers corroborated the victim’s information and located evidence that was obtained as part of the investigation.  

The victim knew Powell and the two had been in an argument.
