The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Shane Guyant:

The department is looking for 27-year-old Cameron Corey Houston who is wanted on 15 counts of felony second-degree exploitation of a minor.

The charges stem from information investigators received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a person distributing and receiving child pornography.

Late last week investigators executed a search warrant on his residence near the 1400 block of West Chaloner Drive.

At the time of the search warrant execution Houston had already left the area.

Houston’s whereabouts at this time are unknown, however investigators have reason to believe he may be in the northern Virginia area.

Downtown larcenies

During the month of May, the downtown area of Roanoke Rapids was plagued with larcenies. These larcenies consisted of lawn equipment that victims would store in their backyards or under carports near alleyways.

As part of the investigation detectives learned that several citizens in the area had residential cameras at their residences.

Guyant said these cameras specifically caught Bradley Cole Crowder, 30, of Roanoke Rapids stealing these items.

Crowder, who is in custody in the Halifax County Detention Center on other charges, now faces four counts of misdemeanor larceny and four counts of misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.

He awaits a June 26 district court date.

None of the property has been recovered.

Anyone who has information on the property is encouraged to use the Crimestoppers number and web link above.
