Two Roanoke Rapids women were charged Monday night following a crash and fight over a man they were both seeing, according to Weldon police Chief Christopher Davis.

The events began in Roanoke Rapids but ended in Weldon when Officer A. Dickens was dispatched to the area of Highway 158 and Prince Street shortly before 8:30 p.m.

The initial call was a two-vehicle crash. Davis said Dickens observed two women — Maeyonna Z. Mills, 21, and  Ebone A. Holt, 22 — fighting in a parking lot.

Dickens deployed his Taser to get the women to comply and learned one of the women was chasing the other over a man. The chase ended in the crash.

Dickens charged both women on state citations for driving with no operator’s license and simple affray.

They have May 15 district court dates.

Officer A. Green, deputies with the Halifax County Sheriff's Office and officers with the Roanoke Rapids Police Department assisted.
