A Roanoke Rapids woman was arrested and charged Thursday with felony child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor
Investigation by Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Detective Sergeant B. Edmondson shows that Brianna Lynn Worsham, 22, was recorded on video giving a child less than 2-years-old an alcoholic beverage, Captain Scott Hall said.

The sheriff’s office received a report on the matter from social services Wednesday.
Hall said it was not clear why Worsham reportedly gave the child alcohol.
Worsham received a $5,000 secured bond and Monday district court date.
Detention center records show she is no longer in custody.
