The Roanoke Valley Southern Christian Leadership Conference will hold its 10th annual MLK wreath-laying ceremony Sunday at 2 p.m.

The event will be at Martin Luther King Jr. Community Park at the intersection of Wyche Street and Virginia Avenue in Roanoke Rapids.

The members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and Epsilon Sigma Lambda Chapter in Rocky Mount will lay the wreath.

Rev. Annie McCollum, vice president of the RV SCLC, will serve as the mistress of ceremonies for the commendation ceremony. 

Rev. Charles E. McCollum Sr., RV SCLC president emeritus, will lead the processional and give words of commendation honoring King.

Other program participants are Michael Hawkins Sr., Rev. John Henry, Rev. Michael Hines, Ophelia Gould-Faison, Kaleb Mikale Lee — who will serve as the bell ringer —  James Mills, president of the RV SCLC, and Rev. Ivey Webb. 

The public is invited to attend.
