The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Captain Scott Hall:

On Saturday Corporal G. Martin was patrolling in the vicinity of Halifax when he noticed a vehicle speeding. 

Martin initiated a traffic stop. The driver was issued a speeding citation.

The passenger was identified as Lakeisha Parker, 30, of Roanoke Rapids.

Martin’s dog Loki was deployed and gave a positive alert for illegal narcotics.

Parker was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She received a $1,000 bond and November 30 court date.

While patrolling Interstate 95 Saturday, Martin conducted a traffic stop for speeding.

Further investigation led to a search of the vehicle in which a firearm and marijuana were located. 

Antwaine Johnson, 45, of Littleton, was charged with speeding, possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce, and possession of a firearm by a felon. 

He was jailed without the opportunity for bond and received a November 30 court date.
