The Bradford Denton House in Halifax will be the site for an immersive art experience in the Where History Meets Art exhibition and demonstration.

The event is planned November 4 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature Alex Howerton, a full-time blacksmith who works the forge at the house and is the resident blacksmith at Historic Halifax.

Howerton crafts metal objects which the Halifax County Arts Council describes as having both utilitarian and aesthetic value.

Howerton will have several pieces of his work available and Weldon Mills Distillery will have a bourbon and whiskey tasting.

The historic house will be open as will be the forge. The kitchen will be open as well, serving period-accurate refreshments.

The event is sponsored by Davis Body Shop.
