Congressman-elect Don Davis has named current Halifax Community College Special Assistant to the President for Governmental, Community, and College Affairs Kimberly Mack as district director.

She will officially begin her duties Tuesday in Davis’s district office.

“I am pleased to appoint Kimberly Mack as my district director,” said Davis. “Kim knows the district, is entrenched in the community, and has the knowledge and insight required to meet the moment and to help address the quality of life challenges our families in eastern North Carolina are currently facing. I’m honored to have her join this team to help ensure NC-01 has everything it needs to thrive.”

Said Mack: “I’m delighted to serve North Carolina’s First District. It’s my privilege and a tremendous honor to implement Congressman-elect Davis’s agenda in the upcoming 118th Congress. I can’t wait to get to work.”

In addition to her current role at the college, Mack was also executive assistant to the president and board of trustees.

She previously served as a research assistant for the late majority whip — North Carolina Senator Jeanne H. Lucas.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from North Carolina Central University and a master’s degree in public administration from East Carolina University, where she serves on the East Carolina University School of Public Administration Advisory Committee.

Mack is pursuing her doctoral degree in education at North Carolina State University.

Davis on Thursday also named the following to serve in his Washington and district offices — Chris Hardee, regional director; AJ Malicdem, senior advisor; and Cammie Britton, caseworker II.
