The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Thursday drug arrests, according to Captain A.M. Harris:

At approximately 12:30 p.m., agents stopped a vehicle on Highway 903 west of Highway 125 for a violation.  

The driver was identified as Jonathan Cavanaugh, 43, of Roanoke Rapids. He was driving with a suspended license. During the search of the vehicle, syringes, a silver spoon, a tourniquet and marijuana was seized.

Harris cited Cavanaugh with a North Carolina Uniform Citation for driving while license revoked and possession of drug paraphernalia.  

Diandre Ireland was cited with a North Carolina Uniform Citation for possessing one-half ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were given April 17 court dates.

 

Shortly before 8 p.m., agents with the assistance of patrol Sergeant Andy Cash and canine Bosco executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of Faulcon Road in Littleton.  During the search of the residence several items of drug paraphernalia and a handgun were seized.

Agent C.A. Parker cited Leon Burgess of the residence for possession of drug paraphernalia. Burgess received a March 20 court date.  

Parker will continue to follow-up on this residence.

 

Shortly before 10 p.m., agents with the assistance of Cash and Bosco executed a search warrant at a residence on Yarrow Lane in the Community Mobile Home Park of Roanoke Rapids.  

During the search of the residence approximately 38 grams of marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia were seized.

Agent D.J. Epperson arrested and charged Markell Harris, 28, of the residence for possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Harris received a $10,000 bond with a February 6 court date.
