Roanoke Rapids and Weldon have announced trick-or-treating schedules and also have trunk-or-treat events scheduled.

Trick-or-treating in Roanoke Rapids will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on October 31, Chief Bobby Martin said.

Martin said households that do not wish to participate in trick-or-treating should shut off outdoor lights between those times.

Trick-or-treaters are asked to be respectful of homes that are not hosting visitors, Martin said.

Weldon police Chief Christopher Davis said the Weldon Board of Commissioners voted Monday night to hold trick-or-treating from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 29.

Roanoke Rapids trunk-or-treat, carnival

Trunk-or-treat will be held at Sixth and Carolina streets on October 31 between 5:30 to 8 p.m. and at Chaloner Recreation Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Businesses or community organizations wishing to participate by decorating vehicles and passing out candy are encouraged to contact Tina May or Martin at 252-533-2810 to reserve a spot.

Halloween carnivals will be held at T.J. Davis and Chaloner recreation centers from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Weldon event

During the time of the Weldon trick-or-treating, the police department along with businesses in the 100 through 300 blocks of Washington Avenue will be passing out candy to trick-or-treaters.
