The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Bobby Martin:
On Sunday shortly after 8;15 p.m. police responded to Zaxby’s on an armed robbery call and learned a person entered the restaurant from the rear. From there they went to the safe room and opened it, taking an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect was seen with a handgun while in the business.
On Friday shortly after 8:15 a.m. officers responded to Dunham’s on a breaking, entering and larceny call.
Officers discovered seven rifles and two shotguns were stolen. The suspects also attempted to gain entry into the handgun area but were unsuccessful.
Martin said it appears the suspects entered through the rear of the business and exited the same way.
The police department is working with multiple agencies on this case.
