A Roanoke Rapids man is wanted in an armed robbery which occurred Friday at Klix Internet Cafe.
Roanoke Rapids police Chief Bobby Martin said Kunta Shearin faces a count of armed robbery in the crime which occurred around 1:45 p.m. at the business off Julian R. Allsbrook Highway.
The police chief said Shearin, who should be considered armed and dangerous, displayed a handgun and left with an undisclosed amount of money.
Officers spoke with several witnesses who provided identification. They set up a perimeter in the area and with assistance from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office conducted canine searches. Those searches led to the area around Walmart where it is believed that Shearin got a ride. Officers spent several hours trying to locate the man but were unable to do so.
As of this report he has yet to be located. Martin said Shearin tends to frequent areas within the city limits of Roanoke Rapids.
