A Littleton man was charged Monday in a sexual assault of a child less than 15-years-old, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

Lieutenant Shane Guyant said in a statement that Jesse James Hall, 26, was charged with statutory rape of a child 15 or less and indecent liberties with a child.

The arrest culminated an investigation by Sergeant R.B. Biggerstaff after the victim in the case reported the assault in May.

Guyant said Biggerstaff obtained information during what he described as an extensive investigation that the assault occurred in Hall’s home.

Hall is currently being held in the Halifax County Detention on a $150,000 bond. He has a July 20 court date.
