A Medoc area man was shot in the hand this afternoon and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about the case.

Chief Deputy Scott Hall said deputies responded to the shooting in the area of Highway 48 and Medoc Mountain Road shortly before 12:30.

They located a man with a gunshot wound to the hand. Hall described the wound as a graze. The victim was checked by Halifax County EMS and later went to Nash UNC Health Care. An updated condition report was not immediately available.
