The Halifax County Health Department today added 64 new positive cases of COVID-19 to its data since its last report on April 14.

The cumulative total of positives since March of 2020 is 13,982.

The department also added four deaths related to the virus since its April report. There have been 187 deaths related to COVID-19 in the county.

Due to the decrease in COVID 19 cases, the county is now providing reports on a monthly basis with the next scheduled to be released June 1.

Reports will be provided more frequently if COVID-19 cases increase.

“Now is a good time to get vaccinated and boosted,” Health Director Bruce Robistow said.

The department continues to provide all three COVID-19 vaccines and N95 masks.
