Municipalities along Highway 301 have begun planning for the tenth 301 Endless Yard Sale.

They are Weldon, Halifax, Enfield, Rocky Mount, Wilson, Kenly, Selma, Smithfield, Four Oaks, Micro, Benson, and Dunn.

This year the sale takes place Friday and Saturday, June 17 and 18. Suggested times are from 7 a.m. through 5 p.m. each day of the sale.

Along the 100-mile stretch of highway between Weldon and Dunn the communities join together with vendors offering deals, antiques, collectibles, and more.

Reports from townships and vendors who participated in last year's 301 Endless Yard Sale show that the event continues to grow.

This post-COVID year should be record-breaking for the event, organizers said.

"Riverside Mill is excited to once again open our outdoor space to our community at no charge,” said John Carver, manager of the Weldon shop. “During this event, shoppers can shop inside and outside the mill located adjacent to Highway 301 in Weldon.”

Lori Medlin, president and CEO of the Halifax County Convention and Visitors Bureau said, "Our goal with this event is always to bring visitors to the participating counties for the two-day sale. Each year continues to be a success."

The visitors bureaus in all five counties will provide marketing support and help to coordinate the event's organizers with each town.

Preparations are underway for welcoming visitors who are invited to explore the country roads of Halifax, Nash, Wilson, Johnston, and Harnett counties to look for unique collectibles along the route.
