As of this report he remained in the Halifax County Detention Center under a $70,000 bond and was scheduled for a first district court appearance today.

David Silver, whose last known address was in Weldon, was charged with felony aid and abet for giving Roberts a ride after the break-in. He received a $5,000 secured bond and was also scheduled for a first district court appearance today.

On Sunday shortly before 10:45 a.m. the pharmacy reported a break-in and that a large amount of prescription medications and numerous cartons of cigarettes had been stolen.

Several hours after the report Investigator C. Batchelor had developed a suspect and began attempting to locate him.

Batchelor developed information regarding the person’s whereabouts and on Monday around 5 p.m. conducted a traffic stop just inside the Weldon town limits. The vehicle was operated by Silver and Batchelor also encountered Roberts.

Inside the vehicle were medications stolen from the pharmacy. After speaking with the men, officers went to a residence in Weldon and located the rest of the medications stolen from the pharmacy as well as some of the stolen cigarettes.
