Roanoke Valley law enforcement reported the following:
Halifax County Sheriff’s Office
Chief Deputy Scott Hall reported that today deputies responded to Commodore Street in Enfield to serve an outstanding warrant on Eddie Faison III.
Corporal G. Caine and Deputy S. Bryant searched the area for the 30-year-old Scotland Neck man and located him in the woods near the residence.
Caine located a plastic bag containing five small individually wrapped bags of crack cocaine. Caine arrested and charged Faison with felony possession of schedule II, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served the warrant for threatening phone calls.
He received a $6,500 bond and March 24 court date.
Roanoke Rapids Police Department
Chief Bobby Martin reported on Wednesday shortly after 11:30 p.m. Officer K. Williams responded to the 1300 block of Hamilton Street on a break-in and assault on a female call.
The victim told the officer what happened and gave a description of a man later identified as Emmanuel Evans, 20, who was the victim’s former boyfriend.
Martin said Evans broke in through a bedroom window and assaulted the victim. He took her cell phone and fled out the backdoor.
Master Officer S. Langley was in the area and located Evans, of the Gaston area, on Thirteenth Street.
The man attempted to flee from Langley but was not successful.
The victim’s cell phone was located along with 27.4 grams of marijuana, 5.7 grams of cocaine, digital scales, and cigars.
Evans was charged with common law robbery, breaking and entering with the intent to terrorize, possession of schedule II, possession of schedule VI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resist a public officer.
He received a $15,000 bond and March 24 court date.
The victim was not seriously injured.
On Tuesday shortly before 8:30 a.m. Officer T. Acree was on patrol in the area of West Eleventh Street when he noticed a man.
Acree was trying to identify the man due to reports received of a man wanted out of Florida.
The officer initially lost sight of the man, later identified as Andrew Hester, 52, of Roanoke Rapids. Acree spotted the man coming out of the woods.
Lieutenant A. Salmon arrived to assist.
During the conversation Hester placed his hands in his pockets and would not remove them.
Hester was placed under arrest when he refused to show his hands.
When he did remove them the officers observed a white piece of paper containing a white powder. The powder is suspected to be .01 grams of fentanyl.
Hester was charged with possession of schedule II, resist delay and obstruct, and alter/steal, destroy criminal evidence.
He received a $10,000 bond and March 24 court date.
