The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is seeking the assistance of the public in an attempted  larceny on December 2 shortly before 11 a.m. at Tractor Supply.

Security camera images from another store shows the couple before they went to Tractor Supply, according to a statement from Investigator E. Johnson.

The same couple were captured on Tractor Supply’s surveillance system attempting to steal a tiller.

Captain Bobby Martin said the larceny was thwarted after an alert citizen drew attention to them.

The couple were seen leaving the parking lot of Lowe's in a white, four-door Nissan Sentra, possibly a 2000-2006 model, before arriving at Tractor Supply.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Johnson at 252-326-2924, 252-578-3965 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
